AOL Problems Accessing Wiggle

We are aware that some AOL users are experiencing problems accessing www.wiggle.co.uk

We have contacted AOL directly about this issue but they have not been able to offer us any means of resolving this problem as a whole. There are however, a few things you can try to get the wiggle website (and possibly others) working on each individually affected workstation.  Please try the steps below one at a time, checking www.wiggle.co.uk as you go.  You may want to print this page so that you can refer to it from the affected PC.

If you are only having problems with the secure section of our website (the shopping basket, shopping process and the ‘My Account’ sections) you will need to go straight to step 4.

Step 1.
Try using a different Browser other than the default AOL Browsers.  If you are using Windows you should have Microsoft Internet Explorer installed. On a Mac you should have Safari installed.  Otherwise you may want to try Mozilla FireFox.

If you are still unable to access www.wiggle.co.uk please try Step 2.

Step 2.
Follow the instructions listed in AOL’s official support section:
AOL problems accessing sites

If you are still unable to access www.wiggle.co.uk we recommend you contact AOL to complain that you are unable to access www.wiggle.co.uk and you have followed the solution listed on their website.

Step 3.
If you are comfortable changing configuration settings of your router, or if you know somebody else that is,  you can try this step which should fix any remaining problems.  Do not try the fix below if you are not comfortable with what you are doing.

You need to get access to your router setup page to update your DNS settings. Instruction of how to do this should be contained within the routers user manual.

Primary DNS: 208.67.222.222
Secondary DNS: 208.67.220.220

These DNS server addresses are provided by OpenDNS.  Changing your DNS server address will mean you are now connecting to the internet via OpenDNS.  They are a free organisation and you can read all about them at www.opendns.com

Step 4.
If you are having problems with the secure part of our website, you will need to change your router so that is uses a larger MTU value.

If you are comfortable changing configuration settings of your router, or if you know somebody else that is,  you can try this step.  Do not try the fix below if you are not comfortable with what you are doing.

Follow the first step on this AOL support page:

AOL - Can't access any sites

Or alternatively to find out what MTU value you need, use your ‘AOL Live Help’ as they  should provide you with information on how to change these settings and what size you should increase it to.

You should also find the settings in your router setup page.

Once you are satisfied our website is displaying on your browser correctly,  please contact AOL and make a complaint and tell them the AOL DNS servers are not working properly.

Problems Sending and Receiving Wiggle Emails

If you are experiencing long delays in your email queries being replied to we would recommend that you check the following:

  • Please make sure our email address sales@wiggle.co.uk is included on your contact list/Address Book of your AOL email service.
  • Please check your spam or junk folder - our reply might be hiding in there.
  • Try decreasing the level of spam protection to allow emails from us to arrive.
  • You might also wish to consider establishing a new web based email address - such as yahoo, hotmail or googlemail - which in our experience are not as sensitive at blocking genuine emails.
